Sariah Pratt was born on 12 June 1833 in Long Island, Suffolk, New York, USA.2 She died pneumonia on 1 January 1898 at the age of 64 in Rockland, Oneida, Idaho, USA.2,3 She was buried on 4 January 1898 in Rockland, Oneida, Idaho, USA. Sariah has Ancestral File Number 1994-WR. 1. Dewitt Clinton and Sariah Pratt Tyler and part of their family arriv ed in the Rockland Valley on 3 July
1883. They moved here from Fillmore, Utah. It took them 16 day s to make the trip. They drove their
cattle and brought all their belongings. Four of their sons, Josp eh Anson, Cyrus, Delroy, and Dewitt
Clinton Jr came into the valley September 22, 1882. Dewitt and Sa riah had 11 children. Dewitt Sr.
farmed, raised cattle and worked for cattlemen for a living. He w as the first dentist in the valley as he
owned the only pair of forceps in the valley. He was active in ci vic affairs. Sariah loved flowers and
had many beautiful flowers planted around her home. She contracte d pneumonia and died 1

3. Tyler-Mrs. Sariah Pratt Tyler, on January 1, 1898, in Rockland, Idaho , of pneumonia; deceased was the daughter of Anson and Sarah Barber Pratt . She was born at Long Island, New York, June 12, 1833. She leaves a husb and, ten children, two brothers: Dr. J.W. Pratt, of Pennsylvania, and Jos eph A. Pratt, of California, and two sisters, Jane E. Kesler and Carolin e Van Cott, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a faithful Latter-day Sain t and beloved by all who knew her.

DeWitt Clinton Tyler was born on 21 August 1828 in New Haven, Oswego, New York, USA.2 He died on 19 July 1909 at the age of 80 in Rockland, Oneida, Idaho, USA.2,3 He was buried on 22 July 1909 in Rockland, Oneida, Idaho, USA. " Dewitt Clinton Tyler was 17 and his wife, Sariah Pratt Tyler, wa s only 15 when they hitched a cow and
a mule to a covered wagon and walked all the way from St. Joseph , Missouri to Fillmore, Utah.
Sariah's father, Anson Pratt, had just passed away so she and Dewi tt brought her brother, Joseph,
and 3 sisters, May Ann, Caroline and Jane Elizabeth with them. Th ey said if they had not had the cow,
they would not have survived the trip. Dewitt Clinton Tyler and Cy rus A. Warner were County
Commissioners in Malad, Idaho and Justices of the Peace. They hel ped build roads and the
cemeteries in both Rockland and American Falls."
