204. William King Driggs was born on 30 October 1885 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Utah, USA. He lived in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Utah in 1900.44,45 He was ordained on 18 December 1932 in Hawthorne Ward, Utah.46 William died on 6 April 1965 at the age of 79 in Burbank, Los Angeles, California, USA. He was buried on 10 April 1965 in Burbank, Los Angeles, California, USA. He has Ancestral File Number 2HZ6-JN. How he received the name "King" is interesting. his parents' second chi ld, Ella Olivia, died October 21, 1883, in her 23rd year. At the time sh e was betrothed to the man who later became Senator William King of Utah . On October 30, 1885, the 12th child, a son, was born to Benjamin Woodb ury Driggs and Olivia Pratt Driggs and they chose to name him in honor o f the man to whom their second daughter had been betrothed. Father an d patriarch of "The King Family Show", William King Driggs organized a fa mily orchestra called "The Driggs Family of Entertainers." He appeared o n the nationally televised "The King Family Show",which he helped organiz e. The original "King Sisters" who were radio hits before WWII, are th e daughters of William King and Pearl Caroline Driggs. They didn't thin k the name "Driggs" would click as a show business name, so they took the ir father's middle name and started singing!
William King Driggs attended the American Conservatory of Music at Chica go, and Brigham Young Academy. While at the academy, he was president o f his class and wrote the class song. He was hired by the Church Schoo l System, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to teach music. H e taught at Castledale, Ricks College, Rexburg, Idaho, Snow College, Ephr aim and at Payson, Utah. An established musician, he wrote "The Navaj o Princess" and many other operettas. he composed "The Liahona" based o n the Book of Mormon, which he presented in Salt Lake Tabernacle in Jun e 1949. He was active in collecting genealogical material on the"Drigg s Family" and some of his researched material was used in compiling thi s book.

William King Driggs and Pearl Caroline Mortensen were married on 22 August 1908 in Sanford, Conejos, Colorado, USA. Pearl Caroline Mortensen was born on 22 April 1889 in Sanford, Conejos, Colorado, USA. She died on 6 October 1970 at the age of 81 in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. She was buried on 10 October 1970 in Burbank, Los Angeles, California, USA. Pearl has Ancestral File Number 1FJ2-87.
