At the age of 3 Clinton moved to Rockland with his parents where h e spent the rest of his life. He was employed by the water district fo r 27 years. Being a good horseman, he was called upon to train many hors e. He worked at the the Oneida elevator in Rockland for 10 years. He ro de his horse every day and conducted his duties as a water master by hors eback most of the time. It was a usual thing for him to arise early an d check the measuring boxes by early morning.
