Sept. 23, 1916 - May 20, 2003
William Belding of Sonora died Tuesday, May 20, at a Sonora hospital. H e was 86.
He was born in Richmond and lived in Sonora for 15 years. He worked a s a delivery driver for Select Frozen Foods in Hayward for 33 years.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-45. He was a member of the Eagl es Lodge in Hayward and Teamsters Union Local 585. He loved sports, espec ially football and basketball, and enjoyed traveling, taking cruises an d trout fishing, his wife said.
He married his wife, Dorothy, on July 31, 1943. They were looking forwar d to their 60th wedding anniversary in July, she said.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Belding is survived by two sons, Bill Beldin g of Salinas and Bob Belding of San Ramon; and five grandsons, Tim Beldin g of Sacramento, Matt and Gregg Belding, both of San Ramon, and Bill an d Steve Belding, both of Salinas.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bob" Belding, in 1984.
No services are planned. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
