Here lies a man who left no talk undone,
Whose garden waits all ready for the spring.
And what he owed he raid to everyone
He left no cruel words to bite or sting.
With fortitude he bore his blows from life,
With generous hand he spread his blessings wide.
In faithful love he worked beside his wife,
A private man with dignity and pride.
Could we, if death came suddenly tovight,
Leave worldly matters as this man has done,
Our friendships polished and our love still bright
With kindness and goodwill toward everyone?
He lived a long life as a gentle man
And death dealt with him gently, as Death can.
