Pratt, age 16, single is living with her grandparents, Orlon Graham. Pratt and Amy Williamson Pratt, and is listed with them in the 1930 census. The 1930 census says that Lavern and her parents were born in Utah. (she was born about 1914). That brings up the question of why she was living with her grandparents and had the other children been farmed out also? I cannot find the other children cannot be found in the1930 census. Pratt was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1893, and was the grandson of Orson Pratt, one of the first pioneers to settle inthe Utah valley, a membr of he Chruch of the Latter Day Saints. Prior to coming to Paradise he had been a resident of El Cerrito, fo rmore than 25 years [~1917-1942], where he was engaged in contract printing and interior decorating. Surviving him are his wife, Clarie of Paradise, three children: Mrs. LaVerne Peterson of Berkeley, Pvt. Leon Pratt of the U.S. Army stationed at Santa Ross airdrome, and William Carson of Richmond; two sisters: Mrs. J. H. Ludwig of San Bruno and Mrs. harry Olophant of El Cerrito; three brothers: Grant Pratt of Oakland; Roy Pratt of Alameda and Earl Pratt of San Leandro. Friends are invited to attend the funeral; services t be held at the Black and Johnson Funeral home on Monday morning at 10"30 o'clock. Interment will follow in the Paradise cmetery under the auspices of Paradise Grange No. 490 of which Pratt was a member. [a Grange is a Farmer's Association all over the US). Orlon J.
