"Maj. Ross LacLoed" (Note that he us listed with his middle name, not his last name of Pratt- Did the newspaper make an error or did he drop "Pratt" from his name?).
"Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. tomorrow inthe Welch-Ryce Associates chapel for Maj. Ross MacLeod, USAR (ret), 64, of San Marcos trout Club, who died yesterday in a local hospital. Rev. Lawrence Fisher of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Final rites will be conducted in San Francisco Friday. Maj. MacLeod, who was born in San Francisco Aug. 26, 1899 is survived by his wife, Mrs. Isabel MacLeod, whom he married in Carson City, Nev., in 1954; a daughter, Mrs. William Vosburgh, New Haven, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Laurie Pratt of Los Angeles and Mrs.Charles L. Camp [Jessie Margaret Pratt] of Orinda, and two grnadchildren. He was a member of Durant Masonic Lodge 268 in Berkeley and of the Amerian Legion." Note: His mother's obituary lists his last name as MacLoed, not Pratt, so he must have dropped the Pratt name. This obituary was in 1938.
